Library Storeroom

Normal students should not approach the storeroom without good reason: Only members of The Wandering Scribe (effectively, librarians) or Sisters of the Order are permitted entry. Strictly speaking there is nothing of real (modern) value in the stores, the reasonably-sized hall consisting of rows upon rows of shelves and packing-boxes. Books are cycled in and out of distribution on a monthly basis, and such books are usually stored on the outer shelves of the stores, giving even librarians little reason to venture too deep into its depths.

Ancient monastic scripts take up the remaining space of the stores, cleaned and maintained daily by a particularly devoted Sister. Some of these scripts are easily a few centuries old - and although they are not exactly valuable to the modern eye, they are guarded very closely for reasons unknown, although many just view it as an odd quirk, and do not think much about it.

The Wandering Scribe

The Convent's local Literary Appreciation Society. Members of the Wandering Scribe participate in active discussion of narration techniques and story-writing, along with methods of book-binding and other book-preserving/restoring procedures. Based in the St. Lorraine's Library, members are also effectively Librarians, managing the hand-tracked book rental and book cycling systems.

In their free time, most members pen stories, short prose, or practice artistic script/calligraphy writing. Many of the Scribe's members prefer to use quills as opposed to the modern fountain pen alternatives. Occasionally, members may stay till after dark, but only in the company of a 5th year student, provided there is a good reason to do so, said reason usually being book-cycling or stocktaking.
